Our Mission

Chronic kidney disease (CKD) affects more than 70 million people in the EU and is projected to be the fifth leading cause of death worldwide. Most kidney patients develop kidney disease due to a long history of diabetes and high blood pressure. In fact, CKD patients are the chronic patients with the highest share of multiple chronic diseases and require a comprehensive multidisciplinary care approach. Treatment of these patients is currently not optimal. GPs often don’t have the time and the skills to care for multimorbid CKD patients adequately, while Nephrologists often need to prioritise severer cases. As there is no drug for the kidney, lifestyle changes are of the essence for CKD patients, but most patients don’t have the support they need outside the doctors office to achieve this. The result is often kidney failure, hospitalisations or death. Our mission at Oska Health is to help kidney patients to live their best lives, away from hospitals and dialysis clinics.
