Who Can Apply?


Before we jump into the application process, let's ensure you meet the basic eligibility criteria:


1. Age: You must be aged 18 or older.

2. Language Requirement: Fulfill the language requirements.

3. Education: Provide proof of a university-level diploma(s).

4. Clean Record: Present an eligible criminal record.

5. No Prior EU Institution Work: You should not have worked for more than two consecutive months within an EU institution or body.

6. No Recent Study Visit: You should not have carried out a Study Visit in the Secretariat of the European Parliament six months prior to the beginning of the traineeship.

When Do I Apply?


The program offers two sessions, and the application deadlines are as follows:


For the October-February Traineeship:

- Apply in May

- Deadline: 31st of May, 23:59 (Brussels time)-


For the March-July Traineeship:

- Apply in October

- Deadline: 31st of October, 202323:59 (Brussels time)


How to Apply?

1. REGISTER:

- Visit the [Traineeship offers main page](https://ep-stages.gestmax.eu/search).

- Select the traineeship offer that aligns with your aspirations.

- Click on "Apply online."

- Complete the New registration form with your personal details.


2. APPLY:

- Select the specific traineeship offer you wish to apply for.

- Log in to your account.

- Upload your CV, ensuring it's in the Europass Format.

- Craft a compelling motivation letter for each traineeship offer (maximum one page).

- Important Note: You can apply for a maximum of three traineeship offers per campaign. Applying for more than three will result in disqualification.

What Happens Next?


After you've submitted your application, the process moves forward in stages:


1. Selection by DGs (Directorate-Generals)

- If you make the shortlist, the selection takes place within these time frames:

- For the October Traineeship: 1st of July - 15th of July

- For the March Traineeship: 1st of December - 15th of December


2. Upload Required Documents

- Ensure you have the following documents ready to be uploaded after receiving the shortlisted message:

- ID/Passport

- University diploma(s)

- Criminal Record

- It's highly recommended to have these documents prepared in advance, as the link to upload them in the shortlisted message expires automatically after 14 days.


3. Admissions

- You will be contacted by the Trainee Outreach and Recruitment Unit, and the admission process follows these timelines:

- For the October Traineeship: 1st of July - 31st of August

- For the March Traineeship: 1st of December - 31st of January
