UI/UX - WEB DESIGNER INTERN | REMOTE

Duties & Responsibilities

You Will Be Expected To Perform The Following Tasks:

  • Collaborate with marketing teams, producers and developers to define and execute in the overall look and feel of our marketing websites, account services and other Intrepid Studios products while maintaining a consistent style with the game.

  • Develop iterative designs based on user feedback and requirements.

  • Create, improve and use wireframes, prototypes, style guides and user flows to effectively communicate your interaction ideas.

  • Execute on all visual design stages and coordinate with developers from concept to final implementation.

  • Implement key art and other assets into web friendly designs using modern design best practices

  • Conceptualize ideas that bring simplicity and user friendliness to our products.

  • Create responsive interfaces using predefined components or by building new components to add to our design systems.

  • Efficiently self-manage to balance working independently and with other developers

  • Create and document complex systems in a clear manner for others to rely on as a reference and to potentially expand upon.

  • Creating low-fidelity wireframes

  • Creating high-fidelity mockups (We use Photoshop and Figma, but if you’re into XD, Sketch, Illustrator, or whatever else is out there, that’s fine too)

  • Some knowledge of UX and IA. You enjoy taking something complex and simplifying it.

  • Reviewing your digital solution after the programming phase and ensuring it matches the vision for the project.

  • Work 100% remotely and participate in regular team meetings and calls

  • May be asked to perform other duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of experience working as a web designer with an established portfolio of work

Required Skills & Experience

  • Solid understanding of HTML, CSS and how to bring designs to life

  • An understanding of human centered design approaches and an adherence to UI/UX best practices

  • Proficiency with Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketch, Figma and other visual design or wireframing tools.

  • Delivering designs that meet WCAG and WAI-ARIA accessibility standards

  • A drive to design and evolve Intrepid’s visual language

  • A positive, collaborative, and self-motivated mindset that works well with other developers

Education & Training

  • Currently enrolled in a university program working towards a Bachelor's or Masters in Computer Science, Graphic Design, or related field.

Ability to work remotely

This role requires the ability to work remotely. This means you have access to a working stable internet connection. You have access to a secure email client that can send and receive email communications without interruption. you're an organized, self-starter that requires minimal oversight. You accomplish tasks quickly and on time. Working remotely is not always an easy task. But for you, you got it down to a science. You will be required to check in for regular team meetings and calls held virtually via Zoom
